Provide an insight into your Vocation story - what and who led you to Seminary? In college, I did not want to be Catholic. I was studying accounting and was very content living as a Protestant. In one of my classes, we discussed in vitro fertilization which indirectly introduced me to Theology of the Body, the teachings of John Paul II. For the first time, I felt that the Catholic Church was safeguarding something true and really beautiful. After this discovery, I regularly prayed for God to lead me into truth, and all of the barriers I had set to prevent myself from being Catholic quickly fell.
I then stumbled across the following prayer, which I began to pray daily. "Lord, I want to want what You want. Even if I do not want it right now, even if I am afraid to want it right now, I want to want it. Help me to want what You want for my life." Over time, my heart slowly softened and became docile to hearing the Lord. As I prayed about a specific job and girlfriend during my senior year of college, the idea of priesthood came into my mind. I was shocked and fearful, but there was immense peace that also accompanied the idea. The Lord has blessed me with so much grace since that moment, and since I have placed my life in His hands, He has provided more generously than I ever could have imagined.
