The Holy Hour…
Venerable Fulton Sheen spoke often about the importance of an hour spent in prayer with Jesus everyday. As an ordained priest for 60 years, it is estimated that he spent 21,900 hours in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. In preparation for his beatification in St. Louis, will you join us in praying 21,900 hours of prayer for our Archdiocese and an increase of devotion to the Holy Eucharist?
2026: A Year of Grace for Saint Louis
It is a unique gift that, in this 200th anniversary of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, Fulton Sheen will be beatified in our very own city. In gratitude for this gift, we turn to Our Lord, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament, with great confidence in His desire to shower graces upon our Archdiocese through these occasions: the Bicentennial Anniversary and the Beatification of Fulton Sheen.
Will you participate in the Lord’s plan of grace by praying a holy hour for the intention of an increase in devotion to the Eucharist in the Archdiocese of St. Louis?
O Jesus, present in the Blessed Sacrament, we adore you.
You have promised to remain with us always, and you fulfill this promise in the Eucharist.
We praise and thank you for the gift of your abiding Eucharistic Presence and the abundance of grace you have bestowed upon your Church in the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
O Jesus, source of every grace and summit of beatitude, we beg you to pour forth upon each soul in your local Church the same spirit of adoration and filial love that animated the life of your faithful servant, Archbishop Fulton Sheen.
Following his example, may we seek you as ardently, love you as totally, and find in you as surely the peace and fulfillment of all our desires.
Blessed Lord, look with mercy upon us and grant us the grace to be faithful witnesses to you and your Church that we too may merit to be called her loyal sons and daughters.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Pray with us…
“I resolved also to spend a continuous Holy Hour every day in the presence of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament…”
